Thanks for the link, the idea behind the post was that many visitors to Tenerife end up buying from the Duty Free at the airport where it can be more expensive than in the shops on the island. This list allows them to compare prices.
The Duty Free shop actually had a 20% off offer during June and do have offers on a regular basis so its possibly not quite as clear cut as it may seem.
However, I ALWAYS buy my Gordon's at the local Netto where I can get it for less than 10euros per litre!
And yes we do have hard shell cases

Haha, airports are notorious for being a rip off, never ever ever buy anything from them if you can help it
Unless you're in the Dominican Republic where they are good value for money! 200 Ciggies for $10

It would be very rare to find anything cheaper at the airport. Almost every supermarket can underprice the airport, airport duty free is for anything that you forgot to get earlier!

You are probably correct but you have to bare in mind that the average (newbie to Tenerife) will possible either buy at the airport or heaven forbid on the flight home using their left over euros and paying over 1.50euro/£ for the priviledge.
On my last flight home, the person next to me paid for everything is euro's, their meal, duty free and drinks all at an exchange rate of over 1.50e/£.
Why they don't save it I have no idea!!!

Yes many prices are higher in TFS but, All spirits sold in the Duty Free are normally 47% strength, against normal 40% in town shops. Also bear in mind you have no choice if you wish to take any back to UK as you cannot take liquids through security
Have to agree, Stocky. I was very early for my last flight out of Tenerife. Decided to purchase a snack and a pint in one of the cafes and the prices there were shocking. I almost felt sorry for the guy serving who had to keep repeating the total to the disbelieving Brits! Nothing short of disgusting!
