Which is the quickest route from Los Rodeos TFN airport to Puerto de Santiago?

Can anyone tell me the quickest route from Los Rodeos airport to Perurto de Santiago? We are staying at the Tamaimo Tropical.

Quickest route is to travel East on TF5 towards Santa Cruz and then turn on to the TF1 Autopista Del Sur all the way to Adeje (roundabout) and then follow the coast road though Armenime, Playa San Juan, Alcala and then turn off (not to Playa Arena due to closed road) to Los Gigantes and then Puerto Santiago looking for the sign for Tamaimo Tropical (right at the small island by the post office).

Travel time - 1.5hrs/2hrs

Yes, would agree. There is a far SHORTER route, but the nature of the road means that it will be more strenuous and still take about the same length of time.

Welcome to the forum, philben! Why not post a new thread in the Introductions section HERE so that everyone can say hello??

Having done the journey twice a day for over six months I agree with the previous comments but would like to add the following.

If using the TF1 when traveling towards Santa Cruz watch out for the TF2 sign on one of the junctions marked for La Laguna, take that as it cuts across the island missing out Santa Cruz altogether.

The shorter route is by far a lot more picturesque and as Janet sayd will still take just as much time, it is one road all the way, basically turn onto the TF1 heading towards Puerto de la Cruz and keep on driving. You will see some fantastic views along the way and at one point you can actually see both sides of the island at the same time.

and adding to sprout's comments, once you reach Icod, follow signs for Guia de Isora then Los Gigantes.

That depends on where in Puerto Santiago you are staying!

When you finally come down to a T junction that has Los Gigantes to the right, if you are staying in the top part of Puerto Santiago turn right, if not turn left, follow that road at the roundabout turn right and after a right bend in the road take the next right towards Playa La Arena.
