Graceylacey, I know you have children so you might probably want to keep CanguroNet active ... I was landed with it when I signed up for Telefonica and it took me an age to get rid of it ... and even longer to have them stop charging me for it
I´ve posted before that everytime I wanted to view a property site that had a "penthouse" I was barred

Can someone please tell me how to get on to a thread that comes up Canguro Net.

I really want to read about "15 year old girl missing in silencio area"

I heard the news on the radio this morning that a body had been found and would like to see the latest update on this other awful tragagy thats happened this week.

Hi fun2bdeb

I believe that the Canguro Net thing is Telefonicas 'net nanny' which restricts certain (in fact most) sites on the internet.

I recall that they apply this automatically but that you can ask them to disconnect it by calling the Telefonica ADSL helpline (sorry I dont know the number).

Maybe one of our resident IT Techies can give you more help.

Cheers

I have merged your question with an existing thread on the same subject. Maybe the previous replies will help too.

Debs,

I rang 1004 and asked them to cancel Canguro net. Within an hour or so I stopped getting the message. You can speak to them in English.

In Los Cristianos our internet has gone off and on for the last 2 weeks, only for a short time but enough to break VOIP transmission any one know why...

Perhaps the reason you may not be getting through to some sites is that Telefonica puts blocks on some sites and their computers pick up key words so although the site might be innocent the computer doesnt see it that way, you have to get telefonica to lift it but that may take a few calls, my friend has asked four times already. She cant even get onto an estate agents site, why... the word Penthouse!!
