I have two quotes for my holiday to Tenerife and cannot decide which one to choose
Hi,
I am new to this forum, I love Tenerife, it was my first holiday as a teenager and I still go back now 12 years on (with my child now).
We may be returning in August, but I needed a bit of advice. I have two quotes:
1. Package holiday - staying at Iberostar Las Dalias half-board 1520euro for 1adult & 1 child.
2. Book separately - staying at Sunset Harbour Club (Pueblo Torviscas) self-catering 1650euro.
I have stayed at Pueblo Torviscas apartments before and the location is perfect, however, Las Dalias does have breakfast & dinner included (but not sure I want to be tied to hotel). I know where Las Dalias is & it's up a bit of a hill, I don't mind the hill, but not sure if my child (7) would appreciate walking it every day if we wanted to go to the beach (I am sure all sunbeds will be gone at 9am so we will prob spend alot of time at the beach).
I have also heard mixed reports on Las Dalias, queues for food, rooms not great, etc.
Is any familiar with this hotel & Pueblo Torviscas? What would you recommend I do? Just pay the extra to be closer to the beach plus pay about 600 on food while there or go the half-board option at Las Dalias?
I am so undecided, my head is about to explode.
Thanks.
P.S. I can save about another 350euro by flying to TFN ,but the transfer will cost about 200euro, so not really saving there either. Arrrrrrggggghhhhhh
to the forum. Pretty sure someone will be along to answer your question shortly! Enjoy!

Macca have you tried looking on trip advisor for reviews by people who have stayed in the two choices you have? I tend to look up the places we go to and find them very helpful. hope this helps and I'm sure you will get loads of advice on the forum Have a great holiday. dido
Don't know either Macca, sorry, though someone will. I just wanted to say hello and welcome to the forum. Why not post in the Introductions and Birthdays section and say hello to everyone so that they will see you and say hello back
Las Dalias is a very good hotel. It is central, was refurbished two years ago and has the most wonderful pool area. The rooms are basic but clean, food is buffet style and plenty of it, they will also do you a picnic to take to the beach. Las Dalias is opposite the San Eugenio Commerical Centre, so is only a few minutes walk to the beach.
Sunset Harbor is also very nice. It is right on the beach and there is planty going on around there. The rooms are nice and there is a bar there where they sell the best Sunday dinner in Tenerife.
Personally I would go for the cheaper option with half board. It does seem expensive though for one adult and one child. What date are you coming?

Thanks everyone for replying. I have looked at Tripadvisor, Holiday-truths.co.uk, holidaysuncovered, etc. I probably shouldn't have as so many different reviews have my mind boggled.
We are going August 10th til 24th. I know the cheaper option is the one I should be going for, but what if I don't like the hotel, the location is fine, I know where it is, it's just would it be better to pay more for somewhere I have stayed before, or the cheaper option for somewhere that I might not like.
I have gone all-inclusive before, but that was 2 adults and worth every penny, we ate and drank all the time, but a 7year old isn't going to eat/drink that much and I won't drink that much if at all as I will be the only adult caring for the child. So would it really be worth paying the half-board????
I want this location Torviscas/Puerto Colon as I fell in love with the area in March, my daughter loves it too.
I only have til weekend to decide on the private rental. As I said earlier, my head is about to explode.
