My car has been stolen in Tenerife TF9061CC - Sunday 24th June 2007

Hello fellow members
I have just had my car stolen from the beach at Las Galletas this morning.
Could you please keep an eye out for it on the island, it is not too difficult to spot. It is a white Mitsubishi Galloper Jeep with a dolphin on the side and Tenerife Dive Club written on both sides.
The wheel cover has a large blue and yellow dolphin on it.

The police have been alerted and of course if it is found I will make another posting immediately. My telephone number is removed - please contact me by PM

Sorry to hear this. I think contacting by pm is a waste of time on this one though!

Maybe the mods would consider putting the number back considering the circumstances??

If uwatecdiving sends any mod a PM with contact numbers, we can put them on a moderator thread, and if anyone sees the car they can just PM any mod who's online at the time. The contact details will be there already for said mod to act on immediately. This is what we did with Craig and Chris when they were robbed in the Esmerelda recently, and it should work well here too. There is hardly ever a time when not one of us is online.

With respect Janet if i see the car it certainly wont be in my dining room which is where my P.C is, it will be whilst i am out on the road driving somewhere so how are we supposed to P.M an online moderator at the time?
Surely there can be an exception to the contact details rule this once for something like this, after all the forum is supposed to be to help each other out, if we all save the number in our phones and one of us does see it we can ring the owner and he can head straight to the car and collect it using his keys?
Me thinks common sense should prevail on this one!

Surely if you see the car whilst out then you phone the police ... it is an official theft and they might need to take fingerprints. You would call the police in the UK, not the owner. You should do the same here.

The rule is that personal details are not posted on the forum. This is for very good reasons.

Have you checked to see whether or not your vehicle has been towed and impounded for some reason? Even tho´you´ve reported the loss to the police - the different authorities don´t keep each other informed so it may well be that it´s been taken away and is in a pound. This has happened to us on occasion - it´s worth asking the police where a car would be taken if grua´d from Las Galletas. Hope you get it back safe and sound either way!

Personal details are not allowed on the forum for reasons that have already been explained in the 'forum rules' thread. If you require an explanation, please read them, or contact a Mod via PM.

The details were removed as a moderator decision following the T&C's of this forum. Please do not question that decision in a public thread.

Thank you.
