just in the process of buying an apt in tenerife and was wondering if anybody can reccomend suppliers and fitters for the above,and are there any websites for these,or e-mails for prices etc

The design and make of your sunblinds will be determined by the community of owners on your complex, David, and the administrator will ensure that everyone knows where and how to get them.

In terms of security shutters, there is plenty of information on the forum about this ... try searching on "grille" or "welder".

As far as patio doors are concerned ... are these not being installed by the builder?

the patio doors are looking a bit tatty and I am thinking of replacing with new upvc doors in brown colour but obviously I dont know where to start looking,as for the blinds I know they have to be a certain colour but I think I can go wherever I want to purchase them,obviously all this is a new experience to me so its a case of finding people to do jobs, thanks for the reply

Sorry, David, for some reason I thought you were buying a newbuild.

For blinds, you do need to ask the administrator. There may be a choice of supplier, but you'll need the code for the complex's colour and fabric. The administrators of the complex should also have a list of suppliers and fitters.

As far as patio doors are concerned, there is a company in Las Chafiras which does a really good range of types and styles. It's called Canary and British Aluminium, from memory, and their number is (0034) 922 736 738. I'm not aware that they have a website, but they're based just down the road from Iceland, down opposite La Carpinteria ... again from memory.

Yep - and three years down the line, I'm still a few bits and bobs missing from my installation and one of the doors has the weather strip on the INSIDE

There's a good one in Las Chafiras. From the roundabout, take the San Miguel road and then take a right into Las Chafiras. Down the hill. Across the first crossroad (where you would turn right to go to Textiles Sur etc) ... and it's just on the left.

(As you can tell, the name of the place just escapes me )
