Hi there,

If anyone is flying out from Newcsatle at the end of July or August I´m wondering if anyone with a kind heart would assist my mother in law.

She is 81 and a bit worried about the whole process and we just can´t get back to bring her over.

All I´m looking for is someone just to either get her to the airport ( she would pay for petrol) or meet her at the airport and then help her check in and just sort of point her in the right direction and then just makes sure she gets on the right flight.

A lot of my family and pals are from Newcastle but unfortunatley none are due out at that time. We often get lots of visitors at that time of year though so if that changes I will PM you.

Hey Mummy Moon,

What area is your mum from?

I live a few miles south of Durham and the airport is about a 30 - 40 min drive from me.

Also do you have any specific dates/times in mind?

Its just I work funny shifts and I know I am away down country 28th/29th July for one of hubby's competitions.

If I can help I will, as I would not want to see her stuck.

Why not get on to your local volunteer bureau. I used to drive for them in UK & this is the sort of thing they do all the time.

whats the latest on your predicament, I'm sure lots of people would like to help but might need some more info,
does your mother in law actually have a ticket yet, ie what date does she travel, and where exactly does she live?

Unfortunatley I need the MIL here for the summer hols whilst the kids are off, but will bear it in mind if she wants to come over again.

We have not set dates as she's retired so can travel any day, it would probably be the first tuesday or friday in august.

It is very kind of you to offer and will keep you posted once we have a confirmed date.

My MIL doesn't have her ticket yet as if someone can help we would need to book at the same time, we are flexible flights go on a tuesday or friday from newcastle to here.
We are looking at any date in the last week of july or first weeks or august.

She lives in Wallsend and can manage to get to the airport that can be done by taxi, it's more making sure she hands over the right documents and then gets to the right gate at the right time.

I would be more than happy to help if I can...
I live about 15 minutes drive from the airport and would quite happily pick her up and help her through check-in... Unfortunatly wouldnt be able to help her once she has gone through security...
I do howver know of a few people who work at the airport who I may be able to get her sorted once she is through security...
