Question Does anyone know what the Esmeralda Playa Hotel in Tenerife is like?

Hiya, does anyone know what this hotel is like? How far away from las Americas (Starco etc). Any help will be much appreciated. Cheers

this hotel is in the torviscas area, you will need to get a taxi to get to the strip, or you can walk if your feeling fit. I've had friends who've stayed at the Esmerelda and they enjoyed it, i could see the hotel from where i was staying and it did look quite nice.

I stayed there once Craig and thought it was a good hotel. We did find the food a bit repetitive though and ended up eating out every other night. As Borogal says you would probably need to get a taxi to Veronicas and Starco as it is a good 20 mins to half hour walk.

my friends stayed all inclusive and said the food was really nice, but thebar staff seemed to have a problem with the amount of drinks they were ordering.

The money you save on food, will cover your taxi fare, and anyway it's nice to stay in another area, Torviscas is really nice and the beach towards Fannebe is lovely.

Hope this helps you to decide.

The Esmeralda is behind the old Torviscas market, and about 2 mins from Porto Colon. Great area, lots of bars, restaurants and a stones throw to the beaches.

If you walk a couple of minutes to the top of the road near the St.Eugenios shopping centre you can get a taxi to Veronica's for about 6 or 7 euros, but the bus stop is there as well so it makes sense to bus it there and taxi back.
You could probably walk in about twenty minutes all down the sea front as you won't be wearing any HEELS and it's a lovely walk when you're feet aren't killing you!!!!

EDIT> PS That was Carol talking not Steve

Thumbs up

Thanks for asking everyone Craig - and thanks everyone for your replies...we're booked for the Esmeralda arriving 12th June for a week so if anyone is out there at the same time, let us know before we go and we'll meet up for a beer or ten!
