Beware: some Thai coins are easily mistaken for 2 euro coins in Tenerife

there is a flood of fake 2 euro coins on the golf so check your change when you get it as they are a very good copy, apparently they have come from thailand. fraudsters are using them in ciggy machines so pubs be on the look out.........has anyone else found any in any other area??????

I read a story about this in the paper a few weeks ago, they are not fake €2 coins but they are 10 Baht coins from Thailand.
I already knew about this because when we came back from Thailand on our honeymoon I brought some with me, I noticed they were identical to €2 coins but of course I didn't spend them in Tenerife.

I wish I'd brought some more.

A 10 Baht coin is worth €0.22.

I must admit I've used a fair few in Tenerife since the euro came in. Why do you think I went to Thailand on holiday every year!
