Most of you drivers will know that the speed limit on most parts of the motorways in Tenerife is 120kmh. The stretch however from Torviscas to the end of the motorway at the Adeje roundabout is 100kmh. Most people don't seem to take any notice of that but they should. 3 of my pals have been fined for speeding in the last week on that stretch of road. It seems the Police are using hand held speed cameras from the motorway fly-overs in the area then stopping motorists at the Adeje roundabout. Be warned and stay within the speed limits as it seems like they are cracking down on them. The other place to watch out for is just by the Mar Azul complex, they also use the portable detectors there and then stop you at the turning for Tijoco Bajo. __________________

Payable on the spot (so always carry some cash around with you, because if you can´t pay, they impound the car).

The policman was very nice, I was doing 77 in a 60 zone and I got a 100 euro fine which went down to 70 if I paid within a week! Also, if you don't collect the vehicle from the appropriate compound fairly quickly, they will also charge you for storage. __________________

Do you need anything translating into Spanish? Documents, help with obtaining N.I.E numbers, social security numbers, tax advice, or the legalities when buying your dream property?. Well good luck but dont pm me, I aint got a clue on these matters........
