The Stranglers - pre Hugh Cornwell's departure at the Manchester Academy. VERY small gig... very sweaty!
Or Rage Against the Machine at Glastonbury in the 90's
or R.E.M. at Milto Keynes supported by... wait for it... The Cranberries and RADIOHEAD! Awesome!
Also saw Michael Jackson in Leeds and London a few times and despite his later fall from grace, the shows were still damn good.
or U2 on their Zoo tour... I was a roadie for that one, so I had a backstage pass
Also had backstage for Jean Michel Jarre in Manchester. Wouldn't have been something I would normally go to, but it was great! Especially seen as I helped install the laser harp, so I was able to say "I did that"
When I worked at Virgin Radio in London we used to get live bands in to do sets all the time and I saw some good little 'private' concerts there... Joan Armatrading, Cast, Dodgy, Marillion, Xtreme, Gary Moore (who was a right ******,
TBH) and my heart-throb from the 80's, Tony Hadley... to name but a few. Ah! Those were the days....
Ooh... and I took my ex to see Status Quo in Manchester Apollo for his birthday. Managed to pull a few strings and get backstage passes for that (as he was a BIG fan) and Rick told me I have nice boobs!
