British Airways Vs Virgin Atlantic

A bit of a random question for you people. . .

I am flying to LA next month for a three week Trek America trip and the cost of the flights from Heathrow to LAX are much of a muchness. £333 for BA and £335 for Virgin.

Has anyone on the forum ever used either operator for this journey?

Any feedback on either airline would be greatly appreicated, particularly info relating to in flight entertainment and the all important comfort of seats etc? It's a long journey and I want to make sure I choose the best airline!

Cheers Ears!

I flew to Las Vegas with Bad Attitude sorry British Airways a number of years ago, they showed a recent release movie (not available in the shops) the food was good, the seats comfortable and the staff were polite and helpful.

Hope this helps.

Lived in LA for a while, use to do the trip to & fro frequently, now sometimes to get to Arizona via LAX, We use Virgin if at all poss, they go the extra mile, service, comfort, movies, upgrades ( can sometimes get this free, always worth a try ) etc. Have not had a bad trip with Continental Airlines either, again good for upgrades etc. We avoided B.A to USA. Snooty service, bad connections, couldn't give a damn attitude.
Have a great time am envious

We flew back from LAX with Continental, and found them very good, but i have been told Virgin top the list for leg room and comfort. I personally have not flown with Virgin, so cannot vouch for them.

We have also flown to LA with American Airlines, but they weren't as good as Continental.

Good luck with your choice.

I've flown both Virgin and BA to LAX several times.

BA just has that little bit more class than Virgin.
Virgin's trolly dollys are younger.
Virgins food is better........ the veggie option is.
We've been upgraded with BA, not with Virgin.
BA lost my luggage for two days in LA which was fine as I was paid $100 a day and was alllowed to buy new everything give them the bills and they paid me the cash.
We missed a BA flight which was our fault, they put us in a hotel and sorted flights out for the next day.

So over all I'd choose BA as they do sort you out if there's a problem.
