Question Anyone on the forum got any ideas as to why my keyboard just cuts out?

Anyone on the forum got any ideas as to why my keyboard just cuts out?
The computer is an Evesham and the keyboard is Dell.
Any suggestions welcome.

More details please mike.... how long before it 'cuts out' does it come back after waiting if so how long... does it depened on what you are doing.

Sorry to say but in this instance the fact that you have an Evesham computer and Dell keyboard are irrelevant to the problem you have.

The key board cuts out without warning and doesn't come back on again unless I reboot.
Tonight it cut out twice.
Usually it only cuts out once and then it may be days or weeks before it happens again.

Can you try another keyboard if it is still the same then suspect the PS2 port on your motherboard, also have you done a full virus / spyware /adware scan?

Can I ask if you've EVER spilt anything on it? If you spill sugary drinks on electronic items and don't clean them properly the sugar can rot the connections over time... by sugary drinks I mean anything that contains sugar... tea, coffee, coke, lemonade even pure fruit juices, as the fructose acts the same.

The only reason I found out about it, was when I was working at Virgin Radio and the producer I assisted spilt a sugary cup of tea on the mixing desk. We had to remove all the channels, rinse them under the tap and let them dry overnight before putting them back.

Apparently if you spill stuff on your keyboard or anything else, this is the best course of action. unplug, rinse under the tap PROPERLY and let it dry THOROUGHLY before plugging back in.... Just for future reference.

I haven't spilt anything on the keyboard, nor has my wife, it was hers before mine.
I think it's just one of those marvelous things... as they sing in the song...
Ooh me waxing lyrical!

My keyboard just went off again.
Always comes back on again if I reboot or switch off and on again.
