Calling all Londoners...

I need some help I'm going to have to leave sunny Tenerife for a while I'm due to live in London but I have a major problem I have been offered accomodation in Greenwich nice flat in Haddo Street or Canning Town Freemasons Road E16. I know nothing about these areas can someone in the know tell me if they are ok i.e not too violent,

Are they rough areas?? I know nothing

Please help!!

I can't look at the really posh ends of the city cos not enough €€

NO to Canning town. I used to go to uni down that way and it's rough. Take the other one in Greenwich. It's a much nicer area.

The Cutty Sark,the flea market, antique shops, fan museum,the river walk, Greenwich park, the observatory, the Naval college, Blackheath, trains to Charing Cross, heaps of restaurants, arty atmosphere, Greenwich theatre... got to be Greeenwich. I went to school there and lived in the borough for 29 years as do my family now, so I know! Do ask me any details.

Thanks Kirsty, I was thinking that Canning Town might have been Ok as I was told it was close to Canary Wharf which seemingly is a good area but it's really difficult trying to organise good/bad areas remote I just don't want to end up in a really rough council estate in the middle of london on the 16th floor of a high rise with no lift

I'm supposed to go over this weekend or next to have a look but I don't want to waste agents time looking in really bad areas. Can I PM you with some questions on Canning Town I don't want to offend anyone that may be from that area

Stratford's nice and just up the road from Canning Town. It was done up for the Olympic bid. I know quite a few haunts around that area... and london in general TBH!!!
