Put subtitles on your .avi files

I only had to solve this problem because for some reason, my dvd player loses it's subtitles on foreign language films about halfway through.

I found a programme called AVI Recomp, sorry I've lost the link, but a Google will reveal a number of sources for this programme.

Takes a while to make the new subtitled file, but the advantage is the subtitles have a shadow so you can read them even against a white background.
