Where does your ISP say you are?

Hello everyone. I have a question for you knowledgeable people

I am a member of a football related forum, and one of the posters claims to be living in the US. A moderator on the said forum says his ISP is showing that he is in the UK.

I'm just curious about this. I am with Direct Telecom, and when i do a speed test, i am showing as originating in Barcelona ( I think ). Is it possible to be in one location, but your ISP shows you somewhere else?

Can anyone briefly give me an explanation please, but in very basic laymans terms, as i'm a bit of a luddite.

Hide My Ass! Free Proxy - Free Web Proxy - Free Anonymous Browsing automatically asigns you a false IP addy. Check it with utrace - locate IP addresses and domainnames

Its a UK one you need then you can view BBC online

I have some proxy settings to manually configure firefox but these dont seem to work with vista

At the moment my shows me in Bolingbrook USA but I'm actually in Denmark so you can't believe them all the time.

I use a piece of software called Netshade. It is not only a fully functional proxy server but also redirects/changes IP and ISP addresses constantly!

It's worked wonders for me for years. The only downside is that it may be a Mac only product, I am not sure.

Get a hotmail.com address and register it in a foreign country. Thats where you will be now!!
