What is the good of having pm's maybe we should just put all the messages on the forum.

... for my own part in the last week, I´ve had a good moan with someone, a laugh with another, graciously accepted an apology about a post, offered accommodation and checked with someone about a job - all by pm - I see no reason why next week should be any different

and to add to that, doreen can confirm that we (the mods) discovered a duplicate account this week from another forum member that we knew she knew about and if we had discovered it via reading PM's it wouldn't have taken several days to do.
It would be a hell of a lot easier to read PM's to discover all the dirt, however there are several reasons why we don't... a) it would be WAY too much hassle (it would mean accessing the database via PhpMyAdmin and sifting through loads of code) b) PM's are private, so we respect that and c) we (the mods) can't, 'cos we don't have access to either the database or PM's via the forum.
Please read the thread. All is explained. Several times.

Well,first things first.I'm fully aware that as fora(by that i mean forums) go TF is as fair and diplomatic as they come...But,recently there seems to be a few threads where people are either being sneaky(see uptowns recent thread) or just plain out of order(see this one) why can't we just name and shame and then leave it up to the (mostly)loyal members to have thier say on the matter?? I'm sure that the plebs who write said posts will soon have second thoughts when thier anomynity is taken away!

Well, as part of the moderation team, it is not my place to discuss the reason for a member's banning by naming the member. That is between the member and the mod team alone. This is written in the T&C's and is the forum rules, so whether we would like to 'name & shame' or not, is not an issue, however a question was asked and it was answered honestly, so surely that is the end of the matter....

Of course the owner of the website has access to all areas & rightly so because he owns & pays for it! My personal email a/c was hacked years ago because I used the same password for my email as I did the forum login, a valuable lesson learned don't you all agree?
How many pm's are sent in a day? Do people really think the site owners/mods are bored/sad enough to trawl through each & every single one just for the hell of it?
Most of my pm's are borng so will somebody please go through them & give me a shout whenever I get one of interest?
