People can be so horrible

Why do some people " pretend " to be freinds of yours or good aquaintances and then Suddenly Bang ! they ignore you , dont speak to you and you cant find out why?

It seems to happen on here as well as in " real life". Normally if someone stops talking there is a reason and you both know it so its up to either / or to try and break the ice and resolve, but if you dont know what you are supposed to have done/ not done how can you fix it?

Any ideas?

Don't interrupt me when I'm ignoring you!

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

Hi

I think some people are just born that way.

The other day my other half was out job hunting and as he was scouring around where we live he took our baby out with him. He went in one bar/cafe and asked if there was any work available and the miserable git in there said "And will you be bringing your baby with you as well". If this had been said in a joking way (ie shall we get your daughter glass collecting) fair enough. As if pounding the streets begging for a job isn't soul destroying enough without people like that.

Maybe this guy is having equally a bad time as we are but he has certainly lost us as potential customers. Perhaps I should run courses on customer services and explain that everybody is a potential customer and word of mouth is the best form of advertising.

Anyway rant over. Under stress people can act in very strange ways so maybe this person thats now blanking you is the same.

dont' want to sound thick but what does IMHO stand for - i know it's probably really obvious !

any way if some suddenly ignores you it says more about them than you and do you really want friends like that any way. That said maybe you should just ask them outright - at least you'll know - they might not even realise they've ignored you - people sometimes can be very self obsessed and in Tenerife people can often come across as very guarded !

Its In My Humble Opinion jnnlat!!
The problem here is that most people are aquaintances not friends. They still can be really nice people, and over time they may become friends, but theyre really not the same in most cases. Look through your contacts on your mobile - count how many you could call on in a real crisis. Who would drop everything to run to your door. In 11 years I can count on one hand the people here in Tenerife that fit that bill. Two of them I knew in the UK. A couple of them I met here, and one of them moves to the UK next week

Absolutely correct.

In my contacts list there are only two people that fit the bill - or three depending on whether the 3rd is here or in the UK.

There's also another 3 that I could call if I REALLY need to, but I wouldn't be happy about having to do it.

This seems to be something that's quite common over here - I don't know why, and can't offer any words of wisdom, but have had people do the same to me, without explanation...

The only words I can offer: Ignore them, rise above it, they're foolish immature people that don't deserve the honour of good friends... you're far better off without them xx
