Sad, tragic, unfortunate and bad times

Is it my imagination, or are Tenerife forum members suffering from an unusually large and disproportionate level of one or more of the above events at the moment?

Rallying round when things aren't going well is the trademark of our members, but wouldn't it be nice if the unfortunate events didn't take place in the first place.

Don't interrupt me when I'm ignoring you!

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

Ive lived here a long time now and I dont think I can remember a year that has pulled so many people down. It doesnt matter who you talk to... with business closing all over the place, leaving folks without jobs and little hope of getting new ones..... yet the rents are still so high...... Its OK to talk about returning to the UK but you cant do that without money either especially if there are children... so in answer to your question no I dont think it is your imagination Mike and I think things are going to get worse before they get better. Its a case of batten down the hatches......

and in answer to your question about forum members, yea, there does seem to be a lot of negative and downright horrid posts recently, but as i've said, life goes on and we will all end up supporting our good members and friends

On a positive note, this is one of the reasons why not only is this the only forum that I have ever been part of and I am still part of it, but also why I care so much about the forum and it's members... because whatever happens, if you are a member and you post that you are in trouble, everyone gets together and helps.... quickly!

Well said Kirsty I think there are so many unhappy posts recently because members know that they will get the support and simpathy they need in times of trouble from their friends on here. And long may it be so.

But I agree with Mike that it would be better if we didnt have these problems to begin with but life is not like that. However what doesnt kill us makes us stronger and a group pulling together makes the group stronger

It is very sad that we all seem to have problems one way or another, but I also think the tight nit of this forum is like a family. We can all get through it together

Always someone with worse problems

We all have problems from time to time when there seems no way out, but just to puts things into perspective....

My daughter is a childrens nurse working out in the community, for the last month she has been on call 24/7 (her own decision, she is one angel) one of her patients a child under ten has been in the last stages of life in incredible pain which unbelievable amounts of drugs didn't seem to control - god bless him he passed away this evening gasping for breath, obviously his parents are distraught and in the confusion his dad had to be convinced not to visit the grave which has been half dug ready for the last 3 weeks, he said he needed to make sure it was all ready for him so that he can tuck his son in once last time.

OK now wipe away the tears and thank god for the health of our loved ones and say a prayer for this family, who quite frankly I don't now how the hell they will ever get over this.

You know, we all have our problems, big or small, but when you read something like this I just thank God ( and I am not the best believer) that my children are happy, healthy and part of my life.

Your daughter is clearly an angel, you must be very proud of her
