Gracey, whatever your opportunity, go for it.

Before we moved out here last September we had two deaths in the family. My Dad and Andys Uncle. This May Andy's Mum died. The point is go for it. We nearly didnt come here after the first two deaths, but we did, and I am glad that we did. Sometimes you have to take a chance. Lives to short, and its for living.

Give it a try it could be the best thing you ever did.

Gracey whatever you are going into make sure you have the "trust factor"..
Many on here have given their opinions, whereby it's with their parnters they have spent years with

I would not have any problems working with the Oneill as he knows I'm the boss in everything but I would be a little sceptical going into business with someone I did not know 100%

My parents lived worked and did everything together but believe... it was hell for us kids

Tenerifeteddy & I have been working together well, for nearly three years now. We think we complement each other and make a good team. We are not together all day though, in the same space, but even when one of us is in the shop we are often in communication via the internet or phone! Can't say we always agree! (Not sure that's healthy though.) Second time around for both of us - so we try not to make the same mistakes as in our first marriages. Been together 15 years, married since 2002 - so far so good

Just like everything else, it depends on the partnership and the personalities of the people concerned. We just love being together, after having to survive quite long patches of time when we needed to be apart.

Our long hours wouldn't suit everyone, but we have been happy with the 'trial' so far! So many of our friends & family thought we were probably mad to even try and work together in a new business venture overseas, particularly when the shop idea suddenly became possible. But it has worked and we are enjoying ourselves. Glad we didn't let them put us off trying.

Gracey best wishes in whatever you decide to do!

What i will say is every relationship is different. What works for one, may not necessarily work for another. So yes i reckon you have some soul searching to do, and first and foremost you have to be true to your self as to whether you think it is something that will work or not. Its a lot of weighing up to do.

Throwing a relationship and work together will either work, or it will devastate. May sound a bit hard , but if you lose your job, business and man all in the same day...then devastating springs to mind.

It obviously works for some on here, but at the end of the day, it has to be a decision for your self, and partner and not to be taken lightly!

On the other hand, as already mentioned, lifes to short to wonder, live a little, risk a little, who knows? Only you!

Most of these replies sound as if these couples have their own business, which to me mean they have one main purpose....be successful.

Wonder how it would work if they were employed by someone?

I have my own business but have never thought of employing the wife. To be truthful I wish she'd get a job, all she does is clean the house, look after the kids, cook, do a bit of gardening, some shopping etc. All I get when I get home is 'I'm tired', so I always tell her she should try working!

Forgot to say Gracey, good luck with whatever you choose to do.
