I work in a call centre for O2 and we were told this am that there were problems for some downloading the update due to sheer no's on the site. I tunes was also down up to me leaving at 12.00pm and they are trying to get it running again. MMS text to 1010 was also overwhelmed and the suggestion is to try that again later. Please don't shoot I'm only the messenger and not handset trained!

Yipeeee! After leaving it for a day (put my chip in another phone) I connected it to Itunes an hour ago and all is well. Great even. It DOES seem faster (maybe cos I've had to use a piece of **** phone all day?) MMS and 'copy and paste' are maybe the most useful additions for now but I'm sure the new apps will be great. What next?

O2 Data Network Crash Cuts Off Web On iPhone
The mobile phone network provider O2's data network has crashed leaving millions of customers without access to the internet.
The fault is affecting O2 pay monthly customers and mobile broadband users - including iPhone and Blackberry users.
Text messaging, email and internet access has been interrupted but voice calls can still be made.
Wi-fi hot spot access, available free in coffee shops, pubs and other outlets, are still working normally.
The recorded message that O2 users heard yesterday when calling to inquire about the fault said that a GPRS satellite fault meant that the services were limited in the London area.
It added that engineers were aware of the problem but were not able to say when the service would be back to normal.
The network problems come at a difficult time for the operator - Apple is rumoured to be considering allowing rival networks Orange and T-Mobile to sell the iPhone 3G, ending O2's exclusive deal.
Has anyone heard anything about when the new IPhone 3Gs will be available here? Our local Movistar shop hadn't even heard of it LOL!

They have it in the Movistar shop in Los Cristianos just before the taxi rank. I asked about it a couple of weeks ago and was told I would have to cancel my contract to get the new 3Gs model!
Mmmm. Our idea was that I get the new IPhone and Max takes over the 3G. I would keep my current number and Max a new one.
