Huge Outcry At iPhone Baby Shaker Game

An iPhone game that encourages users to shake a virtual baby has been pulled from Apple stores following a public outcry.

Baby Shaker displays a sketch of a crying child with a timer. The object of the game is to shake the phone until red crosses appear over its eyes.

Baby Shaker, designed by Sikalosoft and sold on the iTunes online store for $1.40 (about 96p), has angered parents and health experts.

Apple and Sikalosoft removed Baby Shaker from their websites on Wednesday - two days after it went on sale.

The California-based firm screens every iPhone application in a process that developers say can last weeks or even months.

In the past it has rejected applications that involved shoes being thrown at ex-US President Bush or enabled users to view clips from TV cartoon series South Park.

You can't download the Sky app from the Spanish app store, only the UK & Eire store, so has anyone worked out how to get it and if it works here?

This really annoys me for a lots of applications, because I have registered a spanish credit card I have to have the spanish itunes and then people talk about applications and you can only get them from the UK itunes.

Apple 'To Launch New iPhone' To Beat Rivals

Apple is expected to unveil changes to the iPhone to fight off competition from rival smartphones.

It is rumoured the company will make an announcement at the San Francisco worldwide development conference later today.

Fervent speculation on the web suggests fans expect a new model with twice as much memory and a camera for shooting video.

But some experts argue it will be changes to software, rather than a revamped device, that gets unveiled.

T3 magazine argue there is a high chance Apple could bring out a video iPhone to kickstart a video conferencing trend, although the networks may not be good enough yet.

An updated model would knock a dent in the momentum of rival firm Palm, whose touchscreen mobile Pre just hit shops in the US.

Its focus on web-browsing, integrated different streams and conversations, makes it Apple's biggest new competitor.

The Palm Pre is only available in the US but is expected to launch in the UK.

Its launch drew crowds but not the stampede that welcomed the iPhone's arrival two years before.

In the UK, Nokia's N97, which comes with 32GB internal memory, touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard, will launch on June 19 as more providers seek to compete with the success of the iPhone.

I haven't got a UK credit card and the last time I looked they didn't accept Electron which I do have for a UK account. I must try to see if the USA store accepts EPassport or whether my Spanish address will stop it.

I don't think it will just be software. Version 3.0 of the IPhone OS is due any day now and I understand the phone will be able to make the most of the new facilities in the OS. I for one hope it has a larger memory (64mb would be great) and some kind of video app. They also need to reach some kind of agreement with Adobe for flash. It's annoying that you can't get Flash movies to play, especially for news stuff.

As for the Palm I think the App Sore and what it offers will drive a lot more users to the IPhone. Mine is becoming more of a small laptop by the day and is hardly used as a phone!

    iphone

I currently have an iPhone in the States. If I unlock it, what cellular service could I use? Is it unreasonably expensive to have? Thank you.
