Has anyone on the Tenerife Forum done any volunteer work?

Yesterday a couple of folk from work and I took part in a volunteer project.

We went out to a community centre and completed a garden for them.

I've never really done any gardening before, but I had such a good time yesterday ( even tho it rained all day!)

The place where the centre is, is not the best of areas, but the people were great!! ( and one of the older laddies even made us a huge batch of home made soup!!!!)

The centre itself was magic! It was just a wee place but full of character and facilities.

I do take part in a lot of fund raising for charity, but actually makiing something was quite a different feeling.

I really really enjoyed the day and would most definately do it again. We all worked as a team and achieved something good.

Has anyone else got any experiences they'd like to share?

Thats really nice,i used to help out at old folks home and a childrens hospital when i was in the uk,got a lot from it.
