How many forum members smoke?

I just got back from Tenerife on Saturday and once again, I was gobsmacked by the amount of smokers I saw. They were everywhere and all ages, nationalities and sexes (well I saw some dubious characters!).

We were in a restaurant on the front at Porto Colon on Friday and a couple asked if they could smoke at their table, and the PR guy said yes, no problem if it's ouside and they both proceeded to light up huge cigars, while everyone around them was eating!

So much for the health warnings - do people smoke more because they are cheap?

I dont smoke Three weeks ago despite the no smoking signs someone had a go at setting fire to our apartment Burnt the sofa . If people want to smoke its up to them but they have to consider non smokers unfortunaly not all do.

Hi fellow Scots, I don`t`smoke but wife does but no more than usual, I noticed most pubs in Los Cris allow smoking inside.

I don't, but hubby does. He smokes double now what he used to in the UK.

I stopped smoking 3years ago, i was fed up with having a permenant sore throat. Hubby still eats them, but live and let live, I reckon. Glad they are making more resturants smoke free zones over here though, and yes, I am one of the reformed smokers who whinge when i get in line to someone else's smoke!!!!!

Maybe I noticed it more because of the smoking ban in the UK. I don't have a problem with people smoking, as long as I don't have to taste it with my food!

I think there must be a huge smog cloud above Tenerife full of cigarette smoke, no wonder it gets cloudy for days on end!

I dont smoke but my hubby does but i have to say he would not dream of lighting up at the table after a meal if we were out, he is always conscious of others that dont smoke and respects them.

You're right, there are lots of considerate smokers, but many people are not. I suppose it's a matter of manners.

i have to admit that when I am on holiday I do smoke more. I wouldn't smoke where people were eating tho as I know how disgusting it is and I always try to not smoke infront of the kids.

Thats one thing I don't understand tho, I remember bing on holiday last year and there were a couple of kiddies at our apartment and when they were around I was really concious about smoking infront of them, yet their parents were bellowing smoke out all arounf them
