well here is one for the forum... me and the wife are besides ourselves as to what is going on, is it all FATE, BAD LUCK or even a CURSE? you decide...
After having a brilliant time in Tenerife over the 2007/2008 Christmas/New Year holiday period, me and the wife after many years of discussion decided that it was about time we put our dream of living in tenerife into action.
after this decision was made certain things have happened...
we were given a parking ticket in tenerife for parking in an illegal area - cost 80euros. a few days later we were done for speeding in tenerife - cost 75euros.
the wife started her car after our hols, and found that the brake pad had come away from the caliper and was actually stuck to the disc pad!!
it took 3 weeks to sort the above out, after getting in one mechanic after another. eventually my car packed up and i called the RAC, who fixed my problem and as he had some spare time sorted out the wifes car (a bit of good luck there)
we put our house up for sale in england on the 28th January 2008, and still to this date we have not even had one veiwing !!!
in February there was a family gathering for a Birthday, bear in mind that there were 12 of us - this includes Grandparents, sons & daughters- the night went very well, until we got to the taxi rank. one policeman took it on himself to say that we were all causing afray!!! even though none of us were drunk!!! 4 of us were arrested. and charged accordignly.. we now face a long and expensive trial to clear our names..
four weeks later, me and the wife popped out for dinner with the kids and we were set upon by a drunken man and his wife for what we can only understand to be that we were in the same pub as them...
one week later my brother-in-law found a close friend of ours had passed away in her house!!
this caused him to have to much on his plate, what with the impending court case, and he is now on depression tablets...
all this in the space of 3 months !!!. and all we want to do is emigrate to tenerife...

oh god how much bad luck can someone take you seem to have been through the mill and still going but remember the only way you can go is up here,s hoping that things will take a turn for the better and when they do all will become right and it will be all behind you to start your new life

You have just had a run of bad luck thats all it is and maybe in the wrong place at the wrong time. Regarding your house, it's a really bad time to sell at the moment, everyone is so unsure as to whats going to happen with the economy. I thought of moving to Tenerife two years ago, i am now moving on the 25th April. Don't give up i'm sure things will get better. Good luck.

They say these things are supposed to make us stronger. Not sure about that myself but keep your head high and stay focused. Things will get better and hopefully soon you'll be living your dream on this amazing island.

So sorry to hear about all these things and your terrible run of misfortune. These things could happen anywhere and I'm sure you are dying to put them behind you and have a fresh start.
Be cautious: Tenerife is wonderful but a move may not keep all problems at bay... Here's to a better time ahead.

Im sorry too, but its all relative. Sometimes in your lives lots of bad stuff seems to happen all at once.
Will say one thing though if your serious about moving out to Tenerife. Get used to it!
Problems are what you perceive them to be. When you move here expect lots of problems. Life doesn't just stand still. And the problems you have in the Uk tend to follow you. You dont leave your problems back in the UK...they follow you
Still wish you the best of luck, and prepare your self for the worst, then it will all be a breeze for you
