i had an unexpected telephone call tonight that quite knocked me for six.

it was from an immediate family member with whom i have not spoke from last august. they called me and all i could do was make 'small talk' but you know what?

it feels really good

Hey, life is too short!
Maybe the person in question felt real guilt. All they could do was call, that was their 1st step to forgiving themself & moving forward. Then the relationship building takes two.
I really hope one day you may laugh at this!
Good luck!

thanks danni. i hope so too because i used to have such laughs with the person in question. i'm as stubborn as the proverbial mule though when it comes to being wrongly blamed for something. fingers crossed things are on the up. xx

Thats why its better to have a good scrap, get it out of your system, then feel guilty & have a laugh afterwards about how stupid you've both been & much it hurt when he dragged your face over the pavement (still hurts now)

These situations are very difficult, as the saying goes 'you can choose your friends, you can't choose your family' we have problems with an in-law and to be honest I have built bridges sooooh many times only to see them knocked down again. I admire those who keep trying.
