Where will it end... | | | 31st March 2008, 17:29 | #2 (permalink) | | Super Tenerifian Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Poole Gender: Posts: 3,186 My Mood: | I think instead of parking fines, they should up the fines for drivers who still use mobile phones while driving! So many times I have wondered why somebody is driving erratically and nine times out of ten it's because they are using a hand-held mobile. __________________ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. The OB want to deal with it as a 'complaint' & are not happy that I pointed out this new law to them. They now have absolutely no reason not to give the driver a fixed penalty. If everybody stood up in this manner the government would think twice about introducing ridiculous laws. | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Licinius For This Useful Post: | | 31st March 2008, 21:08 | #4 (permalink) | | Super Tenerifian Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Huddersfield Gender: Posts: 1,184 | And you thought Big Brother was dead. Where will it stop? Will all new cars have transmitters fitted to record speeds driven and linked to Satellite trackers so they know the speed limits? __________________ A gourmet who counts calories is like a tart who looks at her watch To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. I will publish a book one day of all the excuses my Company gets when the motorists are appealing against tickets. Some are hilarious but lets not forget, they were only issued a ticket in the first place because they were parked where they should not be on double yellows etc, or driving through bus lanes etc. __________________ Do you need anything translating into Spanish? The police deserve support from the community, not this. __________________ Michael (I am not now nor have I ever been a Sun reader!) Make your mind up will you? As for police deserving support from the community, why do you think I'm emigrating??? | | | 1st April 2008, 08:36 | #9 (permalink) | | Super Tenerifian Join Date: Jul 2006 Gender: Posts: 2,964 | Quote: Originally Posted by Licinius You totally contradicted yourself there Mac, in one sentence you say if you don't want a fine don't park there & the next you suggest its ok for plod to do exactly that! Your attitude towards this police officer is petty and vindictive. If it had been a civilian, you wouldn't even have turned your head. Because it was a cop, you have taken it upon yourself to bring this spurious complaint and waste god knows how much public money for no other reason than to give this cop a hard time. It's the same attitude as the person who photographed Jeremy Clarkson on his mobile while driving. They singled him out purely because of who he is and wouldn't have given it another thought had it been anyone else. A very sad way to be. __________________ Michael (I am not now nor have I ever been a Sun reader!) To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. A very sad way to be. | On the contrary, he broke the law & should pick up a fixed penalty ticket of £30 which is money into the coffers. If he was a decent law abiding member of society & hadn't parked in a dangerous & illegal manner, he wouldn't have the problem would he? My attitude is not petty, there is no worse crime than being a bent copper! | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | | |
