A warning regarding young children. Don't let them answer the phone unsupervised

I thought I would give a little warning to parents whose children answer the phone.Yesterday a little girl who lives near me and goes to the same school as my grandaughter and is 9 years old answered the telephone. She had a conversation and she told the person who she was, what age she was where she lived and what school she went to.She was being looked after by the nanna and when nanna asked who was on the phone she said a man and put the phone down.Nanna then dialled 1471 but the number was witheld.A few minutes later it rang again and nanna answered it and it was the same man and he asked to speak to ******.She asked who he was and he told her to mind her own business then launched into a vile obscene rant on what he was going to do to the little girl as he knew who she was, where she lived and what school she went to.It appears the police are watching him because last week he had been outside another school in the village taking photos of the children. If the police are watching him why did'nt they pick him up last week. They say we don't have to know where paedophiles live but I say we do.Please don't let your children answer the phone in case this happens again.

OMG!! Olly that is terrible, a warning for us all I think. My kids always answer the phone and have never even considered this sort of thing in all honesty. I will however be warning them tonight. x

I would love to but as the police are watching him I don't want to put anything on line that would hinder them in any way.I have not heard anything else at the moment but as my daughter works in the school maybe I will hear something this afternoon.

This is slightly off topic but it does have something to do with children. The local schools have swimming lessons each week and I never gave it much thought but my daughter tells me the baths are still open to the general public and the children use the changing rooms when adults are in there. She tells me her sister in law has a boy and in the male changing room each week is a man and he is naked. It has been reported twice and also to the baths but he is still there. These small boys are at risk, these changing rooms need to be closed to the public when schools are there. Why does a man need to go naked to the showers, the ladies all wear their swimming costumes to shower. This is a dangerous prescident,do your children have open swimming lessons,if you don't know ASK .
