Have you ever sworn in front of your children?

We try not to, although on occasion I have slipped usually followed by a futile attempt in masking it as if I meant "luck" or similar lol

I have never heard him swear yet.

Guess it's only a question of time before he picks it up from the playground.

My brother swore in front of his children like it was in the dictionary and I used to cringe when he done it but as his kids grew up they never used that language to my knowledge and they were lovely kids,,it makes you wonder how some kids have perfect upbringings and go totally wrong what are you to do

I try very hard not to swear in front of mine but there are times I cannot hold back

I believe that even if I never swore in front of my son this would not stop him. Although he knows they are "naughty words" at such a young age it seems very clever and very grown up. I remember when I was in first year of junior school walking with my freind in the play ground swearing my head off cause I thought I was in the big school now and a 4th year turning round to me and saying its not clever. I felt so embarassed I thought twice before I did it again.

I swear in front of mine all the time.....................but, being the ages they are, they know and use more swear words than I do!

At the tender age of three, my wee one said s**t, bloody & it was not from us...the nursery (Spanish!).
They will pick it up, up to us what we say is right & wrong, what we accept & don't.
I know I will come down hard with him so he does know right from wrong.
I'm sure he will do what we all did as kids, sugar n spice when in front of us & wee hard men (or ladettes) when out of our site.
Nothing new then!!!!

A friend of mine used to wind up his wife by bouncing their baby boy on his knee and saying to the baby, 'Say **** to mummy. Say **** to mummy.'

Mummy did not think it was funny. The baby on the other hand thought it was hilarious and laughed and gurgled contentedly.

To be fair, he did stop this when junior actually did start to talk.

I hate swearing although I do think there is a place for it on rare occasions and in certain context.

Most people who I work with swear on a regular basis and some seem unable to complete a sentence without the "F" word and I seem to pick this up subconsciously and swear whithout thinking. As a result I have sworn in front of my friends children at times and I am so embarrased about it. Of course I appologize.

I have seen a young lad tell his mother to F*** off, and she didn't bat an eyelid, in fact she laughed at him

what i find vile is swearing for the sake of it
i work with a girl and every third word is 'f...' it just makes me cringe she's been told by the boss that using offensive lanugage with fellow members of staff is not on but she still f's & f's
