Why does my internet connection drop every night at Midnight?

Every night at midnight my internet connection drops for about 30 seconds. I've asked around and no-one else seems to get that happening. It's not a problem I was just wondering why it happened. Any ideas?

You may have an application running in the background which is doing this as part of its tasks.

Do you know all of the applications that you have running from startup?

An example may be some 'housekeeping' application.

Just a shot in the dark.

To help you tie it down, can you check your connection with someone else's PC or laptop at that time? If their one is still stays connected, you definitely have an application on your PC.

HTH.

Well tonight Paul was online at the same time through the same wireless router. His connection dropped too.

That tells me something.

If you are both going through the same router it may be the router that is dropping out.

Are you sure it is EVERY night at midnight?
