Britain's lost its identity, and never mind the PC stuff, it's a security risk!
According to The Royal United Services Institute, Britain has a "misplaced deference to 'multiculturalism'" and its failure to "lay down the line" to immigrants has made it look like a soft touch. As a result, would-be terrorists see it not only as an easy place to hatch their plans, but also as a desirable victim ... effectively a doormat with no self-confidence, in contrast to the strong sense of identity and "implacability" of Islamists. Reports of the report are HERE and HERE.
I've always thought that we couldn't expect immigrants, or their descendants, to be proud of the country if we ourselves weren't proud enough of our identity to insist on its value and worth; that we couldn't really expect incomers to respect us if we allowed ourselves to be treated like doormats. In a nutshell, if we behave like victims, we'll be treated like victims. At last, a leading think-tank has said the same.
The government has disagreed with the findings, of course, and it's a shame that the only recommendations of the think-tank are the creation of two new committees .... . But at least someone influential has recognized the problem. What can be done, do you think? This has gone beyond silliness now, if they are drawing strong links between our over-accommodating foreigners and actually making ourselves a target for terrorism.

As a result, would-be terrorists see it as an easy place to hatch their plans, and a desirable victim ... given that it constantly beats up on itself anyway. The report of the report is HERE.

I think we all knew this already, but it took this report to highlight it to the Government who it appears choose to dismiss it, at their pearl for the generation to come I think...........

Maybe I am over simplifying matters but I have a grudging respect for the French attitude. You are French first and foremost. Everything else comes second.

It all comes back to the fact that we elect the MP's that make up the government.

I don't bother to vote for anyone!! all the main runners offer pretty much the same, none offer to get really tough on the things they really should!!! i would love to know where all these people in government live as they surely can't be seeing these problems or simply choose to ignore them!!!
the one party i think would make a change would be considered by most an extremist group!!!!

Then I never want to hear you complain if you never vote... you lose your right to complain if you give up your ability to vote IMO.

With the greatest of respect spinxy, if you don't vote then how can you justify complaining about anything when you haven't bothered to do anything about it?
