Free office software and virus protection.

Hi,

I found something which was very useful for me and just thought I would share it. If anybody would like free office software, such as word, excel, presentations etc... then take a look at this link. Usually Microsoft can charge hundreds, which I have paid in the past.

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/sho...ffice-software

There's also a link for free anti-virus on that site, but I must admit I haven't checked that one out yet.

Sorry, if this has already been mentioned on the forum...

I use avast too and when I first installed it it picked up stuff that McAfee missed... so I would highly recommend it.

I agree the free AVG has the same potency as the full licenced version.

i use avast! as well, and for office programmes, i can highly recommend "open office", fully compatible with other commercial office programmes.

We recommend Ad Aware or AVG anti Virus software, it is quite a personal thing what the user gets on with, is happy with etc.

We personally find Norton anti virus quite an invasive anti virus program for the average user, it can slow the computer down too.

McAfee uses loads of RAM and slows a system down too.
