Well, if you are going to leave a laptop anywhere, airport security is arguably one of the better places to forget one!
So I called security at Gatwick and asked them if they had found it. To my relief they said yes, but that I would have to either come and get it, or get it collected and posted at great cost.
I called DHL to quote me unhappy, but they needed to know the dimensions and weight of said laptop which I did not have.
Then my wife had a brainwave which resulted in calling the friend of a friend who was due to travel back here yesterday but on the next BA flight out!
When I spoke to him, he had just past security, went back, and I was asked over the phone some questions by security in oder to identify that I was the laptop's rightful owner.
I was warned that this would involve starting up laptop and cross-checking passwords etc. Bit stressy, since his flight was due to take off.
But then I remembered that my son Jamie had plastered an 'incredibles' sticker on bottom of laptop which most do not have
lol This was sufficient evidence...
Laptop was then given to Stephen, who handed it over to me at 7ish last night at TFS :-)
Cheers Stephen for that, owe you several!
