Well I had just ordered my wife her valentines present for Thursday, we then had a nice meal booked with her mum for her 60th birthday on Friday. She is also off on a cruise on Sunday. After a scan last week my wifes mum found out today she has breast cancer, although they have caught it early, in hospital terms between stage 0 and 1 do you think life can change things in such a short time.
i know how you feel it turns your life upside down. my sister-in-law got told last year she had it we were all worried sick but thankfully she has now made a full recovery with a lot of councilling. they can do wonders nowadays.my thoughts are with you

Awww Matt, what a shock. You are right... things can change in the blink of an eye.
However there are lots of ladies who have battled breast cancer successfully and come out of it stronger. I am in awe of their strength and determination.
My thoughts are with you and your family.

I think I look at the positive side of things which is the cancer has been caught really early and all the Doctors are positive because of this, I think for my wife the CANCER word is the worrying thing.
Matt, my thoughts and good wishes go out to you, your wife and especially to your mum-in-law. Here's hoping with positive attitude and the love of her good family that everything goes well for her. As the others have said the oncology teams do wonders nowadays. It sounds very promising from what you say in your post. I wish her well.

It's a scary word ... that big C word... and we all to easily think the worst.
I hope you are all able to remain positive, especially after the encouraging words from the doctors. One day at a time... baby steps all the way.

yes matt, though it is only a little comfort for you when i say that my aunt has been through that as well but successfully beaten her breast cancer, it still must be devastating for you and yours to hear such news. i wish your mum in law all the strength she will need to fight this...
My sincere best wishes to your mother in law matt100.
Life can change in the blink of an eye as I am only too aware. Tell your mum in law to hang in there.
