Yeah,no worries.Well I work in the Timeshare industry and as you know the industry has a bad reputation and yes some of the firms that operate are not very trust worthy and have done the dirty on their customers but not ALL companys are the same !,its the same with any business,good and bad in all industrys.Anyway,Just recently experianced one of these busy bodies trying to discourage people from going up to the resort.A lot of people comment on timeshare and they dont know what they are talking about,alot of them you could even say to them " what do you think about timeshare ? " and they would say " oh,its a con ! " and then if you asked them " do you actually know what timeshare is ? " thier reply is quite often " no !",So they have got an opinion on something that they dont even know what it is.And by the way alot of the bad rumours about timeshare is actually started by major tour companys and alot of the holiday reps warn the holiday makers at the welcome meeting about us timeshare touts and why do you think this is ? its quite simple really.If a holiday maker buys a timeshare then they wont be booking a 2 week holiday with the company again will they,its as simple as that.But let me just clarify one thing,not all timeshare firms are 100 % so dont take my word for it but I can certainly recommend my company which is Club La Costa.

They warned my family about timeshare on the coach down to Las Americas some 18 years ago. "There are two types of cockroaches in tenerife......" Timeshare is a good and bad thing, it totally depends on your own personal needs and wants - yes I do know how it works and I also know how holiday clubs work too.

i understand what you say and that not all time share is a con and if it was that bad would thomas cook be selling timeshare.
the problem is that timeshare failed to police it's self and because of that was wasted for everyone.
the original concept of timeshare was that you actually owned a share in the property i.e. 50 people bought one week and owned 1 50th of the property the other two weeks were owned by the timeshare company for maintenance and down time.
timeshare as it exists now is over sold and you own nothing but a peice of paper saying you have a right to that week(s).
go back to the original concept that is what worked.

You cant tar every company with the same brush,its like disliking a certain race of people just because you were mugged by one of their people

Fair comment,that is true what you say and that is why I am stating what I am about the firm I work for,we are the biggest in Europe and are constantly building new apartments and hotels to keep up with the demand for them and it is true what you say about some firms over selling but we dont operate like that.You get what you pay for with us,I would not do it otherwise.
