What do the Tenerife Forum members recommend for treating flu?
Paul started feeling ill last night and has not been out of bed at all today. He has the flu. Not man flu before anyone starts their wise cracks as we know the difference. He has no cold syptoms but is aching all over. He alternates between a fever and having the shivers.
The chemist give me frenadol for him. What do others recommend?

Frenadol is used for :-
Treating mild to moderate aches and pains associated with headache, muscle and joint soreness, backache, menstrual cramps, colds and flu, sinusitis, toothache, and minor pain from arthritis, and to reduce fever. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. Frenadol is an analgesic and antipyretic combination. It works by blocking substances in the body that cause fever, pain, and inflammation.....
Give him my best I am just over it .......

Most flu remedies come back to paracetamol, though I've never heard of the one you mention. Keep warm, plenty of fluids, food if you can take it and stay off work. It's all very noble dragging yourself in to work, but no good if you're passing your germs on!
Get well soon, Paul.

poor thing, how rotten. Plenty of Vitamin C, either the fizzy things from the pharmacy or if he can fresh fruit, kiwi is high content,( The body doesn't store this, so we need it everyday, it helps fight infections) Honey & hot lemon home made, with real lemon juice, this is comforting, especially full of Vit. C too. Paracetamol for the aches & pains. Nothing more will help really, just fluids & rest & my best wishes too of course.
Some very kind member just PM'd me to offer medicines if I need them over the holidays and help at work should I also need it. Fortunately I have the work situation sorted out I wont say who it was PM'd me to save their blushes but you know who you are and I really appreciate your kindness.
The best remedies have already been put on here, so all I can add is that I hope he is feeling better soon, please give him our love from the gaceylacey family
