Should I get a tax rebate if I'm refused NHS treatment?

The Prime Minister has intimated in a recent speech that the NHS may well expect you to look after your body if you wish to receive 'FREE' treatment in the future.

As a UK tax and National Insurance contributor as well as a tax payer via duty and VAT on the alcohol I consume I wonder if this is fair?

Should I be able to claim a refund on my National Insurance contributions should a NHS consultant deem that I was medically unfit and therefore inelligable for treatment?

If its with his own gun, should the consultant refuse to treat him?

Don't interrupt me when I'm ignoring you!

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

Let me know how you get on, after suffering in the UK with continuous migraines for FIVE months the best I got was "It´s all in you head go home and sort yourself out".
Two years later I moved to Tenerife after a few weeks here an optician told me that I suffered with migraines after testing me for only TWO MINUTES.

So if they pay you out BOY what can I look forward to!

Tell me if you think this chap should have been treated on the NHS.

This is 100% true by the way. Not hypothetical.

This man was on my wifes dialysis shift. Years ago he was a normal everyday bloke who ran a fast food franchise/canteen in the local abbatoir.

Then he was diagnosed with renal failure. Instead of doing as he was told by doctors etc. as far as diet was concerned, he chose to go his own sweet way and ate and drank what he wanted. Eventually, he added Diabetes to the tally and the renal failure became accute (no kidney function at all).

Did he change his ways? Did he hell. He continued to eat and drink as he saw fit. This combined with the diabetes meant that he went blind. He also lost a leg. Eventually, while in the process of losing the second leg, he died.

During all this time, as he loved to tell people, he was getting around £1k a month in benefits not including the guide dog. He made no secret of any of the above either.

Hands up who thinks it was right for the rest of us to fund his treatment.

My Mood:
If people's life styles mean they end up in Hospital then no they should not get NHS treatment i.e. smokers, binge drinkers....actually if people end up in Hospital because they have drunk too much I reckon they should get a £250 right there and then

Sunday morning football players? Anyone injured whilst doing a hobby?

What about them. For me the probelm is where do you draw the line? There has to be a temptation either for professional pride (success rates) or by political pressure for a consultant to refuse treatment to a person on personal grounds thus reducing waiting lists or simply to save on the NHS costs.
