Who'll be drinking what in the UK this New Year's Eve?
According to Sky News, Tesco has a regional sales graph of the most popular drinks in different areas in the run up to New Year's Eve. It's interesting, they say, because it dispels a few stereotypes.
Quote:
Apparently Bristol is going to have the biggest New Year's Eve party, topping the regional sales, and with rum the biggest seller.
Elsewhere ...
Glasgow : more bottles of Malibu than anywhere else. Cheltenham : whisky,
Bournemouth : tequila.
Birmingham : champagne.
Cardiff : vodka. ............. Ahem ... Liverpool : Guinness.
Leicester : cider.
Brighton : absinthe.
Watford : lager.
Newcastle: brandy.
Leeds : real ale ............ (but of course!) Belfast : gin.
