Exclamation I knew London was expensive, but this is silly

Family House for rent in SW19. £65,000 per month rent.
No joke.

I wish it was JAnot, but suspect not. Otherwise, these would all be typos too : http://www.countrylife.co.uk/propert...rch=y&radius=5

We rented a flat, one bed apartment, in a new complex in Surrey Quays, right on the edge of the Thames. This was for a six month period about 15 years ago, the cost then was £175 a week. At the time I was also renting a one bed apartment on Amarilla golf for 35,000 pesetas a month, which at the time was about £145 a month

At the time £175 a week was a lot of money. It was easy to rent a place for £1,500 a week then....If of course you have money to burn!!

Wimbledons come along way since Uncle Bulgaria invented it! Its not so common any more huh?

Not really worthy of a thread even slightly, but where would you rather live?
A Canary Island....or....London?

If i had 65 Grand to spend on a months rent....i certainly wouldnt be living in London. Apologies to any Londoners on the forum..but im sure even you can see how uninhabitable the place has become.......

I made a prediction about the place some ten years ago, that London will become a place for the rich and there slaves.........no room for middle England at all, its priced itself out of its own market place..and to be honest..yes there are good places in London...but generally its turned into a poo hole.

If you earn less than 100,000 pa, your classed as a middle management worker. What career ladder were you thinking of climbing?

Right im knackered im of to my cave for a kip

Not familiar with London but know that in Dudlin property prices are reaching new highs that seem impossible to us ordinary mortals. A young couple looking to buy their first (small)home need both incomes and a looooong mortgage. There has to be a ceiling somewhere

London's great if your young, rich and single. Since I am none of those, so life much better here!

And, yes, the rich/poor divide has gotton wider.

If anyone takes it, I guess it would be the family of a "non-dom" - a foreigner that pays tax elsewhere, if at all!

Personally I am not a city person so it is a complete mystery why anyone would want to live in any city. But it's a case of 'whatever floats yer boat'.
