It seems that when on holiday a lot of people head to the Irish pubs. We were in Golf de Sur one year and ended up in an irish pub most nights. We tried another Irish pub one night for a change and found it dead could not wait to get back to our "local". What makes a good one how do you get the atmosphere???? P.S. PDLA is full of Irish pubs but there does not seem to be one in Los Christianos or have I missed it!!!! __________________ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Seems to add to the atmosphere __________________ Studio for long let (12 month) in Los Cristianos, 400 euro per month plus bills (~30 euro). Sky TV, Heated pool, off street parking, 24hr security. I would not drink bad Guinness at any cheap price. Never really can re-create a good Irish pub in my opinion. Having said that they are few a far between over here too, Not many left, they are places where people gather to chat and socialise on a regular basis. Humming full of laughter and chat. Usually places that do not go for pomp and good entertainment is usually there but not a must. In Dublin there are hardly any good old Irish pubs left. All modern super pubs. __________________ Tom I don't mind coming to work, But that eight hour wait to go home is a bi - ch." That cannot be bought with a load of furniture and pictures __________________ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. All modern super pubs. | When im working across in Belfast I stay at this little pub/hotel in Carrickfergus called the Dobbins Inn... It is exactly how I would have thought an Irish pub should be like...No pretentiousness (is that a word?!), no modern clobber, just an old fashioned boozer with live music, great beer, very very friendly people and the most amazing Irish pancakey chicken thingy and mash potato you will ever eat! | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | | |
