Have the Tenerife Forum members now finished work for Christmas?

I suppose a lot of people have now finished for Christmas. I noticed the roads were a lot quieter yesterday and this morning driving to work. Lucky folks, all done for Christmas.
I still have to go in to work on Monday and although there was talk of us only working till 1pm - it's not so sure now.
I suppose I should be grateful for Tuesday and Wednesday off though. I know there are many who have to work right through this period, but what I don't understand is shop workers having to go in on Boxing Day. Why?
Surely we can manage for another single day without shops?

Hate to rain on your parade but the looky looky men were knocking out that perfume on the market at 2 Euro a bottle... seemed a bit expensive to me....

Of course we could. But some will argue otherwise. The same arguments apply to Sunday opening. Both are totally un-necessary.

I totally and utterly agree with you. I so love it here when the shops are closed on a Sunday, its a real family day and just how it should be. I spend Boxing day with family and friends not shopping

Maybe I have it the wrong way round! We certainly can manage without the shops, but they don't want to manage without us.

Absolutely correct!

It is due to commercial greed.
