Question Tenerife Forum members, what do you think about animal testing?

My friend and I were talking the other day about the best clothes shop in the UK, and we (no sorry that was someting else). We got on to the subject of animals and whether it is morally right to use them to test medicine, lipstick, lotions etc. Anyway we didn't discuss it for too long, because it is a bit too serious and we needed to discuss hair, nails clothes etc.

However, I was thinking about all this and I reckon it is acceptable (although it is not someting I know too much about) I remember seeing a monkey a few years ago with something awful, and that was sad.

Do you think animal testing is acceptable? Are there any vegetarians out there and if so do you wear leather shoes?

My dog Sacha passed her 11 plus no problem. She's still struggling with her driving theory though.

Animal testing is no crueler than the way they treat animals for eating. vegetarians who do not wear leather shoes etc are usually vegans and will not have feather pillows or butter or anything to do with animals!!

This issue is a complicated one, and after much thought and discussion I have come to the only tenable conclusion in my view.

I do not object to vivisection, meat eating, skin wearing, pet keeping - or any of the ways in which Human Beings use animals for their own benefit.

I think one has to be consistent, and imagine a world where all animals are treated with Human respect, and what the consequences would be.

although I love my meat and I am not a vegetarian, I still don´t agree with cruelty to animals, such as the animal testing. I am sure they could find other ways of testing things.

I don't agree with animal testing. As Cathy said I'm sure they could come up with other ways of testing out the latest lipstick, etc..

Lipsticks & makeup should not be tested on animals. It isn't necessary to society, so why potentially harm an animal for it's commercial development?

Anyway, rabbits look silly with makeup on
