Do your children read books?

Saw a sign in a book shop window "Shock your parents read a book!!". Is it a lost art. Once they leave school do kids pick up a book for the sheer pleasure of reading.

Snap with Blue Marlin.. Mine are 8 and 12 and are avid readers but read well above their age. My 12 year old has just read all the Dan Brown (Da Vinci Code) novels.

Complete book-a-holics in our house, all of us

give mini-cin the option, tv or a book, she would always go for the book... once she told me when she was grounded " mum, you can take away my nintendo or whatever, but pleaaaase, not my books..." ....

That's good news, isn't it! I have gaming devices. Apart from a dancemat, I can't see the point in them...

All ours read books, and still do. I am always amused by people who come to our house ... every one, almost, has said something like good god what a load of books, or cor, you must like reading ...

It's the environment the children grow up in.

I used to read the Times to my bump throughout my pregnancy, from a very young age he had a bedtime story and had started to read by the time he was 3½...

He has a huge book collection and reads daily, he's now 16½ - long may it continue!
