Here is a depressing article about the withdrawal of a scratchcard in the UK because people didn't understand whether one number was bigger than another or not. Does anyone on the forum think this is difficult?

I disagree.... I have my maths GCSE and can understand the game but I can see how people would be confused by it

We have been selling these scratchcards until we were informed they were being withdrawn, & you wouldn't believe the crap we've had to take from customers over the last week.
My staff have been called cheats, liars, conmen & one customer on Sunday insinuated that I have no father. (Water off a ducks back for me, I've been called much worse by school kids who I would't sell fags to).

I would say that we have had 20-30 irate customers who all thought they had won. Some understood after we explained their mistake, but a large majority couldn't grasp it at all. Sad really.

I find that EXTREMELY depressing... almost as depressing as the Chinese girl in the shop next to Mercadona in Adeje that couldn't add 3€ + 3€ together, and when I gave her a 10€ note with a 1€ coin, looked confused as to what change she was supposed to give me back. I waited 5 mins while she figured it out on a calculator!

I fine that bad too. I always have loads of change and try to give the odd cents as well as the notes. eg if it's €6.15 I'll give a tenner and 15 cents. More than half get confused then
