My husband has asked me what this dingbat means,I hav'nt a clue,he does'nt want to lose his street cred by not knowing,I think its a proverb.Any brain boxes out there please help.

I though they were a series of pictures/numbers/symbols from which you have to find a name or saying....

Yes but my husbands seems to think its a saying,but he has been wrong for the last 40 years.

I always thought it was what you call someone who's a bit Dippy I know now that it's a serious of pictures etc like Maxinec says. I did a search on it and found some pretty cool dingbat fonts

If you take the numbers to indicate how many letters will be in the words of the answers, as they appear in brackets in crosswords, then we need a six word answer, first word of one letter, second word of 6 letters, etc.

Then write the words as an acrostix as follows (I'm assuming that he's got the last two words the wrong way round ... if not, then this won't work!!)

Little Large
Little Little
Little Large

so we have "little" written on the left side, with "large" written on the right side, but in the second line, there is a "little" on the right side where there should be a "large".

So, I suggest, the answer is "a little on the large side"
