Website payment facilities

Hi, I am looking at taking payments on a website? Does anyone know of anything, I am based in Tenerife? I am looking for something other than Paypal where they would have to register and wait for the code on their next credit card statement to pay the amounts I will be asking for

credit card payment

i dont know exactly what you mean about a code ect im thick but a search on googlewill reaveal a no of merchant accounts what i do is use www.villa renters.com ie rental systems as other wise called to take online bookings and credit and debit cards downside you dont get paid till the booking has been completed because thats basicly how the credit card system works. The upside you get a free web site which you can direct your clients to via a link from your own web site to pay online but this system may not be what your looking for but ive used it no problem they issue all the receipts ect for you bookings and it looks very profesional; david by the way world pays fees are set up 200 pounds monthly fee 30 pounds and 3.75-4.5 %per transaction clearly only for those who do a lot of credit card payments as its veru exspensive.

We've used www.ccbill.com for more than 7 years now. They are part of Bank of America and very well respected. As I'm not sure what type of payment structure you are looking for, or for what service, so it is impossible to say whether they are suitable for your purposes, but have a look around their site.

They take credit cards/bank payments from worldwide financial organisations, and can send the payments to you via mail &/or cheque (we receive both methods.

Also, you may wish to drop globalguy (on here) a mail, he deals in a web phone based payment system (which we also use!)

Hope that helps.

It really depends on a number of factors as to what system will be best for your needs.

Please give some more info... how much are you expecting to take? just a couple of hundred euros here or there, or something more significant?

You could try Worldpay, who are a trusted company, however there is a charge for their services, which unless you are taking enough to cover it, makes it non-viable for small or irregular payments.

There is also the possibility of a merchants account, which you have to set up via your bank, but I would warn you that this is VERY difficult here in Tenerife, as internet sales are considered as 'high risk' by banks over here and a deposit of about 1000€ was needed last time I asked.
