Well, kinda. I was told about a job opening and asked if I was interested.. which I told the owner I was.
My current job here in Abbeville South Carolina, USA.... while I like where I live.. it's a bit frustrating and stressful while fun at the same time. At the radio station I currently work for, I am in charge.. I can program the station as I see fit and have no one telling me what I can or can't do. Currently, we program a Classic Country format. .with country music from the late 40s to the Early 90s.
However, this station isnt making much money at all. Things could change in a few months when new owners take over, but I'm a bit stressed over this station. Basically, not only am I responsible for paying all the billsand maintaining/repairing/upgrading the equipment, I am ALSO responsible for keeping the radio station in full compliance with all federal broadcasting laws and regulations.
Now, this job I had the owner of another station ask me about is in Waynesboro Tennessee USA....
Ironically, it's the same format as the station I work for now. However, at this new station, I'd have less legal and management responsibility. I'd have to staff the office during the day, host an hour long program at new, run the board for an Outside Broadcast of high school sports.
I'd be getting a flat salary every week, along with 10 percent of monthly sales proceeds (although, i wouldnt need to do any selliing) along with a paid for apartment and internet services). I would also get 20 percent of the revenue when the station gets sold wether or not the new owners keep me on.
The owner asked me back on September 26th and it seemed like I was the first person he asked. I know hes speaking to some other folks. I spoke to the owner o nthe phone Friday night, and told him (politely) what I needed/wanted to make it happen. I also asked if my 3 year old well behaved, calm well trained Beagle dog could hang out at the studios/offices occassionally to which he said, "Yes. Absolutely, no problem.. youd fit right in with your dog"
Am I reading too much into this.. thinking that because I'm the first one he asked (even though hes asked others since).. and his response to me asking about my dog....that Istand a good chance of getting the job?
Either way, if I get the job offer in Tennessee, Im taking it.. I need less stress and a little less responsibility in my life right now!
(Yes, I know as a grown adult, I need to be able to handle responsibility.. but there comes a point where too much responsibility and stress is not healthy.
Wish me luck!

Good luck with the job but
What does "let a few things play out.." mean?
Does it mean he's offered the job to someone else who has asked for 2 weeks to think about it?
Does it mean he can't employ anyone for 2 weeks because of a previous persons position?
Does it mean that there is another candidate who he wants to interview but cannot for 2 weeks (if their on vacation etc.)
Or does it mean he's away for 2 weeks and will make a decission on his return?
As an employer I wouldn't dream of letting someone 'dangle' for 2 weeks whilst I made a decission. What happens should you need a decissive answer from the owner re the running of the station, does he think it over for 2 weeks?

Paul, I think the best thing you can do is go with your "gut" instincts.
You know the area and the people much better than any of us here in Tenerife or the UK.
So seriously, go with whatever you feel is right - And I wish you all the luck in the world, with whatever you decide to do, have confidence in your abilities matey.
