In my opinion, you can be a reckless driver and have an accident but you can also be a cautious driver and still have an accident. The difference I think though is there is more chance of someone getting hurt from a reckless one to that of the cautious one. I can't really say who are the better drivers really.

right i suppose i shouldn't really comment on this seeing as i don't drive..... but i'm gonna anyways!

I think that men are more confident drivers but this does not mean that they are better . Women are more hesitant and cautious, they cause less accidents and because they are more cautios are able to stop quicker.

I even heard my dad agreeing on this!!!

Once my dog Dougal (no brains!) ran out in front of car on a really really bad road in our town and the car stopped just missing him and the car behind the first car luckily stopped in time too! My dad said at the time the dog was luck that it was a women driver otherwise the dog would have been run over. The women in the first car also said she was lucky that the driver behind her was a women driver otherwise the car would have crashed into her!

(admittedly I should have had a closer eye on the dog!)

Let's do an experiment. One day only men are to drive. Another day only women are to drive. Assuming same conditions I wonder how many incidents of collisions there would be on each of the days. I guess collisions might not be the pur means to measure "good driving" but it might be a good proxy.
