We've just had a weekend away in Torviscas which is a whole ten minutes away by car from home

We've a group of 7 friends and family over for the week staying in Torviscas. We'd agreed to spend the whole weekend with them so instead of constantly travelling back and forward we decided to stay in an apartment for the weekend.

Has anyone ever gone on holiday closer to their home than that?

Maybe not closer, but when I was younger my parents took us away for a long weekend break in our touring caravan to Delamere Forest which is about a 15 minute drive from home. Seemed a bit pointless really preparing and hitching up the caravan to go somewhere we can easily pop to walk the dogs for an hour any afternoon

I used to work in the next town. When the boss went away on holiday we moved into his house to look after it. We were financially strapped at the time so this was our family holiday. I still went to work but could walk in a few minetes so was home for lunch and had time to go out with the kids in the evening. They had a great time as they were in town (we lived in the country) and had new friends in no time.

the shortest was when i was young yes i can remember that far was to Butlins in ayr just 20 mins from my home in Kilmarnock old golfer will know it well, David

Apartments in Cristian Sur, Tenerife Sur and San Marino

Our friends have a mobile home and they are members of the Caravan Club. They have been on 2 different weekend rallyes in the Huddersfield area despite living in Huddersfield, 1 was 5 miles form their home, the other was all of 2 miles away.

We still laugh about that. I swear they had an extension lead from their home to the Motor Home for the electric and their dog was on one of those retracting leads.

Oh, there was nother time I spent a weekend in bed with a girl and she even called a friend who had a key to come and make us breakfast because we were having a "bed in".
