I need help with my computer software...

Hi guys,

I have software on my hard drive which came from the UK, but I don't have the drivers which came with it to install.

How can I transfer the software from my ex UK PC to my Tenerife PC without the drivers?

Can I write the programme onto a disc and them load the new PC from that disc, or is it not as simple as that?

I don't want to be tinkering if it's a mission impossible.

is this an actual program or just drivers to work hardware.

if just software you need a copy of the installation disk and your registration information.

if hardware drivers you just need to know the device name and get it of the internet.

if it is information for a program(files) then use the backup facility in windows to back up your selected files and burn to a disk.

any other help give me or welshsprout a shout.

p.s. your p.m. box is full did you get my message.

Do I take it by drivers you mean the installation disc?

This is a much more complicated question than you can imagine
1. What is the name of the program?
2. Is it commercial software?
3. What does it do?
4. Which version of Windows is it written for?
5. Which version of Windows do you want to use it on?
6. Which version of Windows are you taking it from?
7. Are BOTH versions of Windows in the same language?
8. Is it a 'standalone' application?

Give me the above information or as much as you can and I should be able to give you some advice one way or the other.

Software

Hi,

I feared this was going to get complicated.

Back in the UK I had a business of selling photos on the Internet, and I bought from differnet sources two programmes; one was like a photo shop for photo editing and the other was for resizing photos. As I'm not with the UK hard drive at this very moment I'm not sure what they were called but I could find out. (I'm at work at the moment)

I remember now that I did not have installation drivers, but purchased these from the internet as downloads. I realise there might well be other downloads I could have on trial for 30 days, but I would rather have something which was mine.

An easier way to do this might be to ask the question "Where can I get downloads or software which will give me professional photo editing facilities plus resizing"?

e mail link

See I knew this was going to get complicated.

When I was in the UK and downloaded these I was with tiscali, but I have since change to gmail, and I don't have access to all my old tiscali e mails, unless there is some way of getting into archives, bearing in mind I don't have an account with them anymore.

try contacting the company and asking them nicely if you can be reissued the info. I have done so with software I have had in the past and the majority of the time they understand...

Me too, Kirsty, I find that generally the "right kind of email" to a company can get results.
